Where can you buy seltzer water

Where can a person buy seltzer water? And exactly what is seltzer water? With all the interest in the new trend towards specialty waters, these are just of a few of the questions that people worldwide are beginning to ask.

First let’s look at the reason for the hot new trend and I believe that there are two main reasons for people to be looking for more specialty waters. The first is that many studies have proven that humans need as much as 8 to 10 glasses of water a day for a body to run healthily. Unfortunately, most people do not get that much water so their bodies run in a permanent state of dehydration. The reason for people not drinking enough water is that water basically has no taste and anything that can make water taste better, encourages people to drink more. Many illnesses of the human body can be traced back to people just not drinking enough fluid throughout their life. Years of dehydration can affect almost every body organ as well as weight and other factors effecting how a body runs efficiently. Many experts believe that this is what contributes to the “aches and pains” that many older adults complain of.

The second reason for this trend is economics. With everyone now watching their money more carefully and needing to make sure that they are getting a good return on every bit of money they spend, water that tastes good and is healthy is a good return on your investment. Especially if you buy one of the many devices that can carbonate water for you at home and you can then add your own flavorings. The ability to make soda pop at home is a great cost cutting device as well as a way to make sure the family is getting good value for their money. It is often hard to verify what ingredients are actually in a bottle of pop bought at the store. But when making your own soda pop at home, you know what ingredients you are putting in this drink for your family.

Seltzer water is water with the carbonation naturally occurring. It is water that comes from the ground usually from what are called artesian wells. This water goes thru layers of minerals containing different forms of carbonates and the water absorbs the carbon dioxide gas contained in the carbonates.

Where can you purchase seltzer water? Seltzer water can be purchased at almost any store and most stores have aisles and aisles of specialty waters. There are also many online clubs and dealers of specialty waters as well as the devices that are made for making carbonated water or soda water which is a form of seltzer water made in your home. A Google search will help you find one.

Different Types Of Soda Water

What is soda water? Carbonated water, which is also termed by its variations like sparkling water and seltzer too, is plain water to which carbon dioxide gas has been dissolved, and is the defining component of many “soft drinks”. The process of dissolving carbon dioxide gas is called carbonation. It results in the formation of carbonic acid (which has the chemical formula H2CO3).

In the past, soda water, also known as club soda, was produced in the home by “charging” a refillable seltzer bottle by filling it with water and then adding carbon dioxide. Club soda may be identical to plain carbonated wateror it may contain a small amount of table salt, sodium citrate, sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, potassium sulfate, or disodium phosphate, depending on the bottler. These additives are included to emulate the slightly salty taste of homemade soda water. The process can also occur naturally to produce carbonated mineral water, such as in Mihalkovo in the Bulgarian Rhodopes.

Sparkling mineral water is a negligible cause of dental erosion. While the dissolution potential of sparkling water is greater than still water, levels remain low: by comparison, soft drinks cause tooth decay at a rate of several hundred times that of regular sparkling water. De-gassing of a fizzy mineral water reduces its dissolution potential, however the total levels are comparitlivly low , suggesting that carbonation of drinks may not be the only factor per se in causing dental erosion.

Intake of carbonated beverages has not been associated with increased bone fracture risk in observational studies, and the net effect of carbonated beverage constituents on the amount of calcium in the body is negligible, leaving carbonated water as harmless as regular water

Club soda has a higher sodium content. Virtually same thing.
Water that comes from the ground – usually from artesian wells – and passes through layers of minerals containing some form of carbonates may absorb the carbon dioxide gas released by the carbonates. This water is known as natural sparkling water. If the water also picks up sufficient quantities of various minerals to impart a flavor to the water it becomes sparkling mineral water.

Carbonation can be naturally induced into beverages by fermentation. Fermentation occurs when yeast, either wild or cultivated, is introduced into a liquid containing almost any form of sugar. The yeast converts the sugar into alcohol and carbon dioxide gas. When the CO2 gas is absorbed by the fluid carbonated alcoholic beverage is produced. If the fermentation is done in an airtight container, the carbon dioxide gas will saturate the beverage and it will be carbonated. Many carbonated beverages were originally made through this type of naturally induced carbonation including beer, wine and early types of soda.

Today the exclusive method of making soda and several commercial beers is by the introduction of carbon dioxide gas under pressure. The first uses of artificially induced carbonation date back over 250 years and were done to improve the drinking quality and preservation of water.

In the United States we have many references to carbonated beverages. Oftentimes people request a specific product name, like Pepsi, Coke or 7-UP. Sometimes it is more general, like ginger ale or root beer. Then there are regional nicknames which include soda, pop, soft drink, tonic, seltzer, sweetwater, carbonated beverage, sparkling water and fizzwater.

One thing to remember about adding any carbonated liquids to cocktails: generally they are added last. The only exception is if the drink is topped with a float of spirit. Do not shake a mixture with soda; this will cause the beverage to go flat and lose most of its effervescence. If the drink calls for blending you may chose to shake the other ingredients with ice first then combine in serving glass with seltzer and gently stir.

Basically, it’s water and carbon dioxide. Sparkling mineral water is a naturally-occurring carbonation, as described above. Thomas Henry produced the first forced carbonated water using an apparatus that utilized a pump to impregnate water with fixed air. A jeweler in Geneva formed a similar device for the production of a highly carbonated artificial mineral water, in the year 1976. His name was Jacob Schweppe.

Cocktail conducted a side-by-side tasting of several carbonated beverages. Among the reviewing criteria were: crispness, flavor, clarity and fizz release. We found that Perrier, a sparkling natural mineral water, maintained its fizz the longest, especially its lemon and lime flavored varieties. Canada Dry and Schweppes Seltzers came in a close second.

For those who find seltzer to be a bit harsh, club soda is a kinder, gentler fizz water. As part of our tasting we found club soda to be much milder and slightly sweeter tasting than standard carbonated water. The main difference is the introduction of potassium bicarbonate and potassium sulfate, which dulls the sharp burn of effervescence.

Club soda, sparkling mineral water, seltzer and carbonated water have no calories, which make them a dieters alternative for 7-UP, Mellow Yellow, Mountain Dew and tonic water.  A large assortment of calorie free flavors to flavor sparkling water to great taste is sold at https://allfreightfree.com.

Tonic water is a carbonated drink containing water, sugar, carbon dioxide and quinine. To help cure or prevent malaria quinine was mixed into the tonic water. It comes from the bark of the Cinchona tree that grows in the rain forest on the eastern slopes of the Andes. To make tonic water more palatable, it was commonly mixed with gin and lemon or lime.

If you run out of tonic water but still have seltzer, 1/4 lemon, 1/4 lime and 2 tbs. sugar you can make a passable substitute.

What is soda water?

It is carbonate water, sometimes referred to as “sparkling water”, and is plain ole’ water which carbon dioxide gas has been added. It is the principal part of most “soft drinks”. This process of carbonation forms carbonic acid which is soda pop.

Soda water, sometimes called club soda, was produced in the past in the home by using a seltzer bottle filled with water and then “charged” with carbon dioxide. Club soda may be the same as plain carbonate water but it can have a small amount of table salts, and sodium trace minerals. These additives make the slight taste of salt home made soda water. The process also occurs naturally in some areas and produce carbonate mineral water.

Sparkling mineral water sometimes causes a little dental decay. While the potential problem of sparkling water is greater than still water the problem remains low. Regular soft drinks cause tooth decay at a rate much higher than sparkling water. The rate is so low it suggests that carbonation of drinks may not be a factor in causing dental decay.

Water that comes from the ground – usually from artesian wells – and filtered among layers of minerals containing some form of carbonates may absorb the carbon dioxide gas released by the carbonates. This water is known as natural sparkling water. If the water also picks up enough different minerals to add a flavor to the water it becomes sparkling mineral water.

Basically, soda water is just water and carbon dioxide. Sparkling mineral water is a carbonation which is naturally-occurring. In 1794, a jeweler made a device to produce a carbonate artificial mineral water.

In a taste test of several carbonate drinks, it was found that Perrier, a sparkling natural mineral water, kept its fizz the longest.

For consumers who believe seltzer to be a bit harsh, club soda has a gentle fizz. As part of the tasting test, it was found that club soda seemed to be milder and a little sweeter tasting than standard carbonate water.

Club soda, sparkling mineral water, seltzer and carbonate water have no calories, which make them a dieter’s choice over soda pop and tonic water.

Tonic water is a carbonate drink containing water, sugar, carbon dioxide and quinine. Quinine was originately added to tonic water to help cure or prevent malaria. Today it is commonly mixed with gin and lemon or lime for an alcoholic drink.

This is just a few facts and names used for soda water.

Who Drinks Seltzer water

Seltzer water goes by many names; sparkling water, fizzy water, carbonated water and is the result of the carbonation process water goes through in a seltzer machine. It is very easy to make sparkling water all you need is a seltzer machine and pressurized carbon dioxide canisters. The seltzer machine forces pressurised carbon dioxide into the water creating the seltzer water. Flavours can be added to the fizzy water to create different drinks.

Seltzer water is a cheap alternative to all the different bottled sparkling water that is currently on the market. The initial outlay for a seltzer machine may be quite high but it is more environmentally friendly as the number of plastic bottles being thrown away is significantly reduced, plus the canisters that contain the carbon dioxide care sent back to SodaStream who recycle them so they can be used again and again.

Flavoured sparkling water has become very popular over the years as more and more people move away from soda because of health issues associated with their ingredients. Soda Club are the company behind the seltzer maker known as SodaStream, they also produce a range of 25 different flavoured syrups called SodaMix that can be mixed in and enjoyed with the sparkling water. These syrups are a great alternative to low calorie pop. Although they taste good they contain artificial sweeteners that are not good for you. Water Machine

There must be hundreds of water machines on the market that produce good drinking water. There is seltzer water, soda water, etc – just do a Google search. But these machines are not the ones we need.

There is currently a water crisis in our world and people are dying. Why this crisis when there seems to be water all over the world? Because 97% of the world’s water is undrinkable. Most of this undrinkable water is salt water coming from all the oceans and the salt makes it unfit for drinking. As for the drinkable water, a majority of it has been polluted or contaminated thanks to our industrial waste and large companies refusing to stop dumping waste into normally safe sources of drinking water.

Most of us in the US don’t even notice that all of this is going on in our world because we are bless with abundant pure, clean drinking water. We go to an appointment at any office and bottled water is available for us to drink. When we go to a restaurant we are usually served a glass of water as soon as we arrive. We even can get a bottle of water out of a vending machine.

Water is necessary for humans to live healthily and because of this water crisis, millions are ill or dying; especially people in developing countries where they are even fighting over water. Babies and the elderly suffer the highest death rates because of this crisis. The number that most shocks me is that 4,900 babies die every day because of lack of clean drinking water. It is gradually becoming clear that there is an immediate need for new water treatment plants or new ways to treat sewage water. And these are the new water machines that we really need. This is a very tall order for our world today.

There are treatment plants that can take the salt out of saltwater as well as a new generation of machines that can make water out of the air. With the crisis becoming worse, there are many new companies working on technology not even dreamed of as yet. The crisis is becoming worse because our underwater sources in some areas are becoming polluted which is making this water crisis one that could soon affect the United States as well as other developed countries.

There is currently a machine on the market that can produce around 500 gallons of drinkable water right out of the air. This water machine isn’t portable, but at least new technology is being worked on.

Small, portable water machines such as this will probably be the wave of the future, with ones being located in every home, restaurant, office and business. But at least this crisis is now being recognized. We must only hope that this realization has not come too late.

Instructions for making carbonated water at home. A comparison of costs and systems

How to, carbon, soda, carbonation, co2, seltzer, sparkling, making, instructions, easy

In these times when people are more health conscious than before, drinking water has taken on a whole new dimension. Many people are very particular about the quality of water they drink, making the bottled water industry one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Some people have added filtration systems to help remove lead and other impurities from their water supply.

However, plain water is unappealing to some people and they may opt for flavored water or carbonated water.

Carbonation is the act of adding carbon dioxide (CO2) to water, which produces the fizz that characterizes carbonated water, sodas, beer, champagne to name a few. If you are the type of person who doesn’t trust store-bought food and water or if you are a how to type, you may like to try making your own homemade carbonated water.

There are many varieties of gadgets on the market for making carbonated water, however the most basic is a seltzer bottle (also called a soda siphon) and chargers. These chargers come in boxes of ten and you will need one for a liter of soda, which adds up to less than the ones you buy from the store.

The seltzer bottle comes in 1 or 2 -litre sizes and holds regular water. It resembles a thermos bottle with a sprayer built into the lid.

Soda siphons contain pressurized CO2 and come in either the snap on or screw on type. (You should check the type of bottle before buying chargers.) The instructions for making homemade carbonated water are very easy. Fit the charger into the sprayer head, press the plunger and voila! you have sparkling carbonated water. This type of seltzer is not as fizzy as the store bought variety.

However, there are other systems available that provide drinks as fizzy as you like them and allow you to reuse your carbonating bottles.

One manufacture claims that his seltzer makers contain enough CO2 to carbonate up to 110 liters of water, and using special bottle caps with hermetic seals will keep the fizz in your soda for a long time. Reusing bottles not only greatly reduces the cost of the seltzer, but cuts down on storage, recycling and environmental waste.

So whether you call it seltzer, sparkling water or carbonated water, the options abound for having the exact taste that you like while making it affordable. And to add some punch to your carbonated water you can always include some of our wonderful fruit flavors to be found at allfreightfree.com.

Using Sodastream is a great way to make your own sparkling water!

SodaStream

SodaStream came into being in 1903. It was a carbonation system invented by Giles Gilby that made standard water into fizzy water and was originally sold to the upper classes.

Flavours were introduced in the 1920Õs, these included cherry ciderette and sarsaparilla. It enjoyed vast success in the 1970´s and 80´s, becoming a big hit in countries such as the UK, Germany and Australia.

The company underwent numerous changes in ownership, even being part of the Cadbury Schweppes empire at one stage. 1998 saw the company change hands for the final time when purchased by Soda Club, at that time, the biggest supplier of SodaStream to Israel.

SodaStream remained the name of the brand after Soda Club made an unsuccessful bid to change the brand from SodaStream to Soda-Club.

More recently Soda Club sought to change the SodaStream brand. SodaStream was relaunched along with a new machine and many more new flavours, concentrating on being a healthy alternative to fizzy, sugar rich drinks such as Cola and Pepsi, focusing on the health and diet issues that are so prevalent in this day and age.

The SodaStream product is essentially a home carbonation kit, which allows you to change water into sparkling water as well as allowing you to add low calorie flavours such as cola and orange. A large assortment calorie free flavours to flavour sparkling water to great taste is sold at https://allfreightfree.com.

The SodaStream machine works by forcing co2 into a bottle suitable for pressurising that is filled with water. The co2 turns the water into sparkling or carbonated water. This process of dissolving co2 is known as carbonation. The carbonated water can then be drank on its own as sparkling water, or mixed with flavours to create tasty, healthy treat.

Once the co2 canisters have been used up they can be sent back to Soda-Club who recycle the canisters, refilling them with co2 then sending them back out.

As far as the actual health and diet benefits gained from drinking SodaStream, it is claimed that all their flavours are completely sugar free and contain a maximum of 2 calories per 100ml, which is good news for parents concerned about their children´s diet.
The SodaStream machine adds only co2 to the water, meaning it does not have the added sugar that some bottled sparkling water contains, so there is little difference between it and normal water.

SodaStream have made much of their environmental and health credentials, even going so far as to say that every one litre bottle of SodaStream made saves three aluminum cans. Which in turn means that over 3 years, a family of four could slash their soft-drink-related packaging usage by over 90%.

This is quite a claim, one that in this environmentally conscious age will stand them in good stead. Sodastream has developed into a truly realistic alternative to the big players in the oft drink world.

Sparkling water

Sparkling water is water to which carbon dioxide has been added. The result is an effervescent liquid that tickles our nostrils and our tongue. Sparkling water is the same as carbonated water, soda water and seltzer. Sparkling water is sometimes confused with mineral water, which is water that contains dissolved minerals such as salts, sulfur and other compounds. Mineral water may also occur in natural springs.

Sparkling water forms the base for sodas since they too use carbon dioxide to produce the fizz. When pressurized carbon dioxide is forced into bottles, it escapes as soon as the bottle is uncovered. Shaking a bottle of soda or sparkling water will cause the pressure to build. When the bottle is opened, the carbon dioxide shoots out of the bottle with a spraying sound.

Carbonated water or soda water was once used to heal certain disorders like upset stomach and indigestion. Today it is used more for refreshment when mixed with other beverages. Even though water has several benefits for all living things, some people do not like the taste of plain water. Those people may prefer carbonated or sparkling water with a slice of lemon in it.

Now it is easy to make your own sparkling water at home with the help of a soda maker. By making your own sparkling water you have the advantage of knowing exactly what goes into your drink. There is no sodium as is found in store-bought sodas, and no calories, making it ideal for the weight-conscious or those trying to lose weight. Best of all you can add the fruit flavors of your choice to produce a healthier beverage. In the summer, the whole family can enjoy making these drinks together and drinking a beverage that is healthy.

SPARKLING WATER

Sodamakers come in many varieties, from the most basic seltzer bottle and chargers to the more sophisticated dispenser. Just surf the web and you are sure to find many ads for these products. You can shop for them online, or buy from the store. The seltzer bottle also called a soda siphon contains pressurized CO2 and comes in either the snap-on or screw-on type. When the charger is fitted on to the siphon and the plunger is pressed, you have sparkling water.

The other type is an appliance about the size of a coffee maker. It requires no batteries, electricity or plumbing so it can be taken with you on trips and is easy to use in the kitchen. A CO2 carbonator is housed inside the machine. A reusable 1-liter carbonating bottle is filled with water and attached to the machine which dispenses sparkling water at a touch of the button. This type may save you money in the long run as it allows you to reuse the bottles. You can make the drinks as fizzy as you like. To enhance your experience you may want to add fruit flavors purchased from Allfreightfree.com.

Water Diet

I never realized how important water was for a healthy diet until I learned it the hard way. When you are young, you often have to learn things the hard way.

This happened many years ago when I was much younger and in much better physical shape. I was very active as I had started playing racquetball as a sport while my kids were taking swimming lessons at a club that we belonged to. I have a good friend who I would play with and for some reason that morning we played full out, three hours of racquetball. On the way home that morning, I begin getting dizzy and my back started hurting. I felt as if I was going to pass out. When I got home, I realized that I was probably extremely dehydrated, so I very quickly took some salt tablets and drank several glasses of water. Within about 30 minutes, I was fine – except I was extremely tired all day. But the water delivered the salt that I had sweated out during exercising to my tissues and organs and that is when I learned the hard way, how important water was needed my our bodies.

I am a fairly smart person but I did not realize that over 70% of our body is made up of water and by sweating and breathing heavily; I decreased the volume of water in my body that day and did not replace it when I should have.

Now that I am older and a little overweight, I have learned another lesson about water and diet and that is how important it is to help you lose weight. By being on a healthy diet and drinking a lot of water daily, I loss more weight and at a much faster rate. I drink the purest water that I can, usually spring water as it taste better and it was amazing how much it helped my diet. Since January I have lost over 45 pounds.

I also learned another little trick and that is that often when I feel hungry, I am really thirsty, so I now drink a glass of water when I feel hungry and usually I learn that I am not really hungry, just thirsty. This certainly helps reduce my calorie intake and also helps with weight loss. I also try to eat a lot of foods that have water in them, such as fruits and soups. And I drink a lot of juice for the nutritional value.

But I had to learn all of this the hard way, instead of doing a little research and learning these tips the easy way.

Drinking water is important for good health. Having enough water in your diet is important for a person to remain healthy. Now, whenever you see me, you will see that I always have a bottle of water with me.
